Acceptance
These terms govern your use of JikOBook, operated by Romana, Dorfstr. 7a, 23562 Lübeck, Germany. By creating an account you accept them.
The service
JikOBook is a multilingual book catalogue with personal shelves, reviews and community features. We develop it continuously; features can change.
Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old, provide truthful information and keep your credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account.
Your content
Reviews and other contributions remain yours. You grant us the non-exclusive right to host, display and translate them for operating the site. Published reviews are public.
Rules of conduct
No unlawful content, no infringement of others' rights, no spam, no manipulation of ratings or votes, and no automated scraping that burdens the service.
Moderation
Content may be checked automatically and by people. Every removal or restriction comes with a stated reason, and you can appeal it. You can also report content that violates the rules or the law.
Copyright complaints
If material here infringes your rights, send a notice with: the exact address (URL) of the material, a description of the protected work, a statement that your report is accurate and made in good faith, and your contact details. We act on valid notices and inform the affected user. Accounts that repeatedly infringe can be suspended.
Catalogue content
Parts of the catalogue are generated with AI assistance and are marked as such until an editor confirms them. We work carefully, but cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of bibliographic data.
Liability
The service is provided free of charge and as-is. We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence and wherever the law requires it; otherwise liability is limited to foreseeable damage from the breach of essential obligations. Your statutory rights remain untouched.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time in your profile. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms — with reasons, and with a way to object.
Applicable law
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country where you live stay with you.
